L.A. (Language Arts) Rocks
Goal-To encourage students to reach their potential through creative, hands-on activities.
Religion-We strum to learn about the seven sacraments through scripture, role playing, and projects. We will research the lives of saints and present the information on story crosses. Sacrament books will be written and illustrated by the students. We will explore Jesus's message and apply it in our daily lives.
Spelling-Spelling and vocabulary words will be composed and given weekly. Application of words will be evident through student participation and assessment.
Reading rocks-Rocking activities are provided to build skills and comprehension. We will explore six themes. Each theme provides a different genre and hands-on learning experiences. Nature's Fury, Tall Tales, and The Revolution are a few of the themes.

We will be grooving in class with Literature Circle groups as we explore and discuss a spectrum of books. The students will complete a book presentation for their classmates as a final project.
English-We will jazz up our written and oral communication skills. We will focus on grammar and enhance creativity through a variety of writing styles.

Handwriting-We will rap through the cursive alphabet, reviewing our letters and refining our style.
